Dan’s Story

Dan started his career working for another company that offered garage door services in Kansas City. After mastering garage door installation and repair, he broadened his skill set to sales and manufacturing.

This experience gave him the foundational knowledge to start his own garage door service in Kansas City in 2007. After hiring his friend, they ran a successful two-man operation and built a loyal customer base. The growth of their business led them to open a wholesale operation in 2014.

Dan’s success persisted. In 2022, he acquired Royal Garage Door Service, merging it with Accelerated Garage Door Service. He then rebranded the company, improved operations, and expanded services.

This strategic move solidified his position as a prominent provider throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area and positioned the company for further expansion.

Luke’s Story

Luke Whittemore is a third-generation garage door industry man. The values he learned from his mentors during his upbringing gave him a thorough understanding of garage door repairs, loyalty to Kansas City, and commitment to his customers.

Luke’s Grandfather

Luke’s grandfather owned a company that offered garage door services in Kansas City from the 1970s until 1987 called Electronic Door Lift. This company provided advanced garage door services and was among the first companies to offer, sell, and install the first automatic garage door openers in Kansas City.

Luke’s Father

Luke’s father worked for Electronic Door Lift until the company was sold, then he started his own business. To this day, Luke’s father works for himself, and taught Luke the importance of transparency with customers and having integrity in everything he does.

Luke started his career at Amarr Garage Doors in Lawrence, KS—one of our trusted partners and manufacturers for AGDS. After learning about all the components of a garage door, from springs to cables to rollers and more, Luke left Amarr to work for one of his best customers, the owner of AGDS, Dan Harriman.
